Evaluation

Animation Evaluation
When making my animation the things that I am pleased about is working in a team and the content of my animation, I am pleased about the outcome of the video because I thought it was going to
be impossible to make but because I worked in my team of me and Amir it worked out.

When filming my animation I thought that it was going to be long to film and then edit because we was familiar with stop motion but we had good experiences with using it and bad experiences but this one was new for us because we decided to use clay and object animation together. But when we started to edit it, it started to come together visually because we played music throughout and putting music in it made the story come to life more.

The aspect I’m most pleased about is receiving my feedback and also making my animation reflect E4 idents. I think that receiving my feedback made me realise all that hard work paid off. I think that my ident reflected E4 because my ident was fun and young which is what E4 is all about.
The positive feedback that I got was that my ident was fun and crazy. They liked how I used a mannequin to dance and the dance moves it did especially when the mannequin did the moon walk, also they liked when the mannequin vomited and the E4 sign came up. The positive feedback made feel good because people seemed to like it.

The part of the production that I was not happy about was the fact that in the final you could see that our background was really blue in some of the scenes and I thought that the music didn’t blend with each other well it felt like it was skipping tracks.

I think to make our ident better we could have stuck down our blue screen instead of holding because then you may not have seen the blue in the final I also think that we could have blended the music better by editing it in a music editing software.

Proposal

Production Company: Remir
Title: Lets Dance!!
By Line:

I have decided to mix clay animation and object animation together; I will use a mannequin and clay to make my channel 4 ident. The time period will be between 30 and 60 seconds.

Synopsis
My idea I have decided to do is about a sketch mannequin that knows how to dance and it dances to different types of music. My ident will start of with the mannequin walking on the set introducing him self by waving in the camera.  My mannequin then realizes he can moves his arms and starts to experiment and then he does the hand wave and then he goes into a ballerina and does a piluette, my mannequin then leaps of the set and comes back into the set moon walking. The mannequin then realizes it cannot move to it full potential because it is stuck to its podium it the rockets of its podium and kicks it out of the set and then starts to break dance he starts to sweat and feels sick and then vomits purple which we use clay to my the sweat and the vomit, the vomit then covers the screen and the e4 sign comes up. When the mannequin starts to dance the different genres we use different music from Michael Jackson billie jean.
I think that my ident will appeal to it e4 audience because its fun uses music that everyone is familiar with and it is comical which e4 represents. I also think it educate by showing people you can achieve to do something if you put your mind to it and try.  I think it will entertain my audience because you hardly see mannequin that can dance.

Personnel
My production team will consist of just Amir Manipon, I have chosen Amir to be apart of my production team because he is a creative person who is a good drawer and has got good editing skills, I will ensure our production in on schedule by making sure we come to every lesson and being on top of our pre production and production work.

Resources
For my ident I will need to use just a web cam camera to shoot my ident with and also a computer. I will need theses things because it will make it easier to shoot with because the props that I will be using will be small and it will be easier to place the webcam in different places than if we was to use a normal camera. I also chose to use a webcam because it is less work we would of had to use an extra person to hold the camera in place whereas with the webcam we can stick it to the computer with blue tack.

For my ident I will use a blue card for the background, I have decided to use this colour because I can use it as a blue screen and drop a different background in when I am editing it. Which will make my ident look more professional.  I am also using plastercine for the sweating and vomiting effect. I have decided to use these materials because they are easy to create shapes and you can make them look realistic.

My Ideas

Channel Idents

Channel idents are what broadcasters use to identify a channel. channel idents are the channels identity they are normally used between shows and some idents are considered as the most important portion of a networks presentation. idents are closely related to the production logo. Idents can vary from a simple static image to a live- action film, or even computer graphics.

clay animation

Clay animation is another stop motion technique. To make a Clay animation you need clay/plasticine, you then sculpt it in to your preferred shape and like other stop motion animation you arrange your object/character on the set (background) and when the film frame is exposed you slightly move the object/character by hand to create the effect of the it moving by it's self and you repeatedly keep moving the object/character by hand until you have your desired amount of frames. if you wanted to maintain the illusion of continuity you would have to pay attention to the consistent lighting and object movement.

There have been programmes even films made from Clay animation which are "Wallace and Gromit", "Flushed away" and "Celebrity death match" to name some they have all been made from clay but the difference is they are all different genres which I can say you can make clay animation diverse.

The advantages of using clay is that it makes a 3D effect, easy to expand, you can morph the clays together to create a marble effect.
The disadvantages of using clay is that its hard to show finer detailing, It is not very strong material to use the structure of it is weak. It is also time consuming I thought that clay animation  was fun to use when creating different shapes but keeping the shapes to stay was tricky and I would rather use cut out animation because it is not time consuming and it is easier to keep object/characters shape.

pixilation animation

Pixilation is where live actors are used as a frame - by frame subject in an animated film. they repeatedly pose while one or more frames are being taken then u change pose as the next set of frames being taken. this technique is usually used to blend in live actors and animated characters.

the disadvantages of using pixilation animation is that when using live actors you have to make sure the last position u finished in is the first position u start with because if you don't you could mess it up also your shadows won't look the same, also because the process is long to make.
The advantages that i found were that you can literally make the actors do most things.

I have watched leap of  faith by the band i thought this video was interesting because the video was  created by using objects as wel as using live actors. I think the "human skate board" one is better because I thought it was more creative, in the sense they used a human as an object.

Out of  pixilation animation and object animation i think that object animation is more creative because you can make an object be any thing you want, but with pixilation animation i think that you are limted to the things you can make a human do or be.
